Mercure Ayr Hotel

Donald, who works in all areas of the Mercury Ayr is are valued member of staff. Anytime we have been in the hotel this man has been more than helpful. He works very hard and is there literally night and day. I truly think he should be given recognition for his hard work as I know he has been here for many years and has always been more than helpful and courteous. I do hope that this review will be a recognition of his hard work.

I have stayed here a few times the last time was probably about ten years ago and after reading some of the reviews I was not quite sure what to expect, however I was pleasantly surprised I travelled with two others and we all had our own rooms and had breakfast and everything was fine. The staff especially the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, I would stay again and definitely recommend it.

We had a great stay at this hotel! It’s a great value for the money and is conveniently located in centre of town, plus it has a nice little parking lot. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with all the essentials like toiletries and hot drink options. I'd definitely come back the next time we’re in the area!

We have been staying in this lovely hotel multiple times! Staff are so friendly and very welcoming, also to mention they are so helpful as my oldest son who has autism, the staff are so understanding and it’s makes our holiday special! One of the best hotels we have stayed in ! We never had any issues or concerns with anything at all! Thank yous all in Mercure Hotel!

Been staying here since it was the Caledonian.Everything great the only criticism is the meals menu.I would say Wetherspoons is better and that's not a compliment.Sorry.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Mercure Ayr Hotel. The room was comfortable and the seaside view was lovely in the mornings. What really made the visit, though, was the service from Finlay and Luis — both were friendly, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. It’s not often you come across that kind of genuine care these days, and it made all the difference. I’d happily stay again. Definitely recommend to anyone else who is considering going!

me and my wife stayed here on 24/10/2025 for our 15th wedding anniversary, was absolutely superb, room was stunning, staff so friendly and welcoming, especially meghan who was on reception, basically the face of the hotel. because if you need any help or information you either go to or phone reception, ENTER MEGHAN, her enthusiasm for the job was infectious, she wished us goodnight as we turned in, and was back to wish us a good morning as we came down for breakfast, I don’t know the wage structure but this little diamond Needs to be tied down, I said to my wife if I run a hotel and happened to stay here for a short visit I would move heaven and earth 2 get her to come work for me, only sour taste was after paying nearly £150 for overnight stay, had to pay £7 to park in their car park, I would much rather they included the £7 in the price of the room (I would have been no wiser)and told me parking was free, , but can’t wait 2 go back THANK YOU

The Mercure hotel in Ayr is a delight, rooms are spacious and comfortable, restaurant on site and bar. Central to Ayr town centre with restaurants and bars as well as shopping! Staff here are very accommodating and welcoming, having stayed here for countless months for work. They have become like our second family always smiling and helpful with anything you need. Recommend this hotel greatly.
